FAM Confirms Three-Nation Women’s Tournament

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has confirmed that three teams will take part in the international Women’s tournament to be staged in Lilongwe next week.

Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe will take part in the three Nations Women’s tournament during the FIFA Women’s International Window from 28 November to 2 December 2025 at Bingu National Stadium.

Initially, Kenya had also been invited, but the team opted for alternative fixtures, reducing the tournament to three nations.

According to the fixture schedule, Malawi will face Zimbabwe on Friday, 28 November, before taking on Zambia on Sunday, 30 November. The final match of the tournament will be played on Tuesday, 2 December, between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The team with the highest number of points at the end of the three matches will be crowned champions.

For Malawi and Zambia, the tournament forms part of their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set for March in Morocco.

Scorchers Head Coach Lovemore Fazili is expected to announce his squad for the tournament on Friday morning.
