The Football Association of Malawi, through its Competitions Committee, has commenced disciplinary proceedings against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club and six of its supporters following incidents that occurred during the 2026 Castel Challenge Cup semi-final match against Mzuzu City Hammers played at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday, 8 February 2026.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club Charges:
- Count 1: Violence and hooliganism
Failure to take all the necessary precautions to prevent Supporters and officials from displaying of unsporting behaviours by assaulting and bullying opponents, tampering with competition area as well obstructing with security
- Count 2: Assaulting and bullying match officials
Failure to take all the necessary precautions to prevent their supporters from displaying of unsporting behaviours by assaulting and bullying match official
- Count 3: Bringing the game of football into disrepute
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets failed to control their supporters from engaging in improper conduct as per the charges above and their actions brought the game of football, FAM and name of the sponsor into disrepute.
In addition, the following FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Supporters — Chingeni Gumbala Kadam’manja, Shaibu Woyera, Trouble Ndikida Kapito, Alick Tsegula, Ganizani Baba and Dyton Bello have been charged for:
- Count 1: Bullying opponents
During team arrival of the visiting team and half time of the said match, the above mentioned FCB Nyasa Big Bullets supporters obstructed the dressing room access and used threatening behaviour and abusive language towards the visiting team.
- Count 2: Obstructing security operations and inciting violence
At half time of the said match, Mr Kadam’manja and other FCB Nyasa Big Bullets supporters obstructed with the match organisation security operations by rescuing a pitch invader from stewards and setting him free.
- Count 3: Assaulting and bullying match officials
At half time the above mentioned FCB Nyasa Big Bullets supporters confronted and manhandled the officiation team.
Separately, Fred Sherrif has been charged with:
- Count 1: Assaulting and bullying opponents
At half time, Mr Sherrif invaded the competition area and poured some liquid substances on Mzuzu City Hammers Goalkeeper Innocent Kamwambi.
- Count 2: Tampering with the competition area
At half time of the said match, Mr Sherrif invaded the competition area and poured some liquid substances on the northern side goalposts.
All charges are in accordance with the Castel Challenge Cup Rules and Regulations and the FIFA Disciplinary Code. The concerned parties have been duly notified and are required to cooperate with the disciplinary process in line with FAM regulations.
All respondents have been formally notified of the charges and are required to submit their response, which according to article 25.8 of the Castel challenge Cup 2025 rules and regulations will be treated as right to be heard, to the FAM Secretariat within 48 hours of the notification.
