FAM BEACH SOCCER LEAGUES TO UNEARTH TALENT 

The 2025 FAM Beach Soccer Regional Leagues will be a good opportunity to identify raw talent across all the playing zones.

FAM Executive Committee Member Felister Dossi made the remarks during the official launch of the Regional Leagues at Frame Tree Lodge in Chintheche, NkhataBay on Saturday.

Dossi, who is also the Chairperson of FAM Competition and Marketing Committee, said the leagues will be a good platform for the players to showcase their skills.

“As FAM, we want to see more players coming out from the competition. From the National Championship that happened early this year, we could see that there was a lot of competition. We are very proud with the Beach Soccer Association because there are alot of players that are coming out. So,we want see more players to beef up our national team,” said Dossi.

Dossi said FAM will continue investing more resources into the game.

“As FAM, we are very impressed with the growth of the sport. In line with Football Transformation Agenda, we believe the sport has potential to grow further if we continue investing more resources,” said Dossi.

Fam is sponsoring the Regional Leagues to the tune of K84 million. A total of K30 million has been set aside for the prize money for all the five center’s.

The Leagues will be played in all the five beach soccer playing zones namely Chintheche, Nkhotakota, Karonga, Salima and Mangochi.

National Beach Soccer Association Chairperson Force Ngwira said the leagues will help expose players. “This is a good platform for the players to showcase their skills and talent. We believe, a lot of players will get a chance to play for the national team ,” said Ngwira.

A total of 58 teams have registered to participate in the leagues. The champions from all the zones will qualify for this year’s national championship.

During the launch, Beach Eagles defeated Black Eagles 4-2.

The launch was also spiced by women’s beach soccer match between Katoto Beach and Golden Joggers. A Popular traditional dance from Nkhatabay performed during the launch.
