
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has announced that there will be a pre-sale of tickets for the 2015 edition of the Carlsberg Cup final featuring arch-rivals Big Bullets and Mighty Be Forward Wanderers.
The match is slated for Civo Stadium in Lilongwe on August 29 and according to FAM competitions manager Gomezgani Zakazaka, following will be the charges: Open Stand: K2000, Covered Stand: K5000 and VIP Stand: K10000.
“The pre-sale of tickets will run from the afternoon of Wednesday 26th August to Friday 28th August 2015. Places where tickets will be sold will be announced in due course,” said Zakazaka.
He also stressed that no tickets will be sold on the match day.
“Fans are therefore advised to get their tickets in good time on the said days,” he said.
It will be the first time that the two teams will clash in the finals of a knockout competition in 12 years.
Ironically the two nteams last met in the finals of the same competition 12 years ago which ended in controversy leading to the giant brewer withdrawing sponsorship before resurfacing a few years ago.
To reach the finals, Bullets beat Silver Strikers 3-0 in the semi-finals on Saturday at Kamuzu Stadium while Wanderers edged Moyale FC 1-0 at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday.
In Saturday’s match, Jaffalie Chande scored the Bullets’ opener in the 12th minute and Bullets led 1-0.
The Divason Mlozi, fresh from his Swaziland stint, added the second before Chiukepo Msowoya closed the scoresheet.
On Sunday, Victor Nyirenda’s lone strike in the 22nd minute, was enough to book the Nomads a place in the semis.
The winner of the tournament will cart home K9 million with the losing finalist getting a K5 million consolation cheque.
