Derby weekend in Women’s League

The FAM Women’s League goes into its fourth week this weekend with derbies in the Northern and Southern Regions.

In the South, second-placed Ntopwa FC will host defending champions and leaders Blantyre Zero at Mpira Stadium on Saturday morning while Northern Region defending Champions Moyale Sisters are expected to face log leaders CY Sisters.

Blantyre Zero Assistant Coach Charles Lubani said they want to consolidate their top position.

“We know that this is a very difficult match because Ntopwa were on top but we displaced them last week. They will be looking for a win to reclaim their top position so we have to be on top of our game,” he said.

Ntopwa Technical Director Isaac Osman said despite his team facing financial problems they will work hard to get maximum points.

“Blantyre Zero is a good side and whenever we meet people watch great games. We will put our problems aside to conquer our rivals,” said Jomo.

DD Sunshine and Skippers met in the Central Region derby last week and the former won 2-1.
