Defending champions Silver out of FDH Bank Cup

Defending champions Silver Striker are out of the FDH Bank after going down town to Dedza Dynamos in a Round of 16 encounter on Saturday Afternoon.

TN Stars and Mafco were the other two Super League casualties while Mighty Mukuru Wanderers survived scare from Kamuzu Barracks Reserves and needed post match penalties to progress to the next round.

The Central Bankers ,who won the inaugural editions last year failed to make it past the first round of the national phase losing 5-4 on penalties at Dedza Stadium after regulation time ended goalless.

Mafco lost to fellow military side Changalume Barracks 2-1 in Balaka while TN Stars fell to Chitipa United 1-0 in Karonga.

In Blantyre, Wanderers gave away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with KB after regulation but won 4-1 on penalties.

In other matches, Airborne Rangers lost 2-1 to Ekwendeni Hammers. Brian Phiri and Mabuchi Msiska scored for Hammers while Rangers scored through Henry Mlaleya. Kamuzu Barracks beat MDF Marine 2-0 with goals coming from Zeliat Nkhoma
