DAY one of FAM Women’s Football League

After a yearlong break due to COVID-19, the FAM Women’s Football League kicked off on Saturday with exciting matches in all the three regions.

In the Southern region, Bangwe Super Queens defeated Blantyre Hotspurs 3-1 in the region’s opening match before Blantyre Zero thrashed Ndirande-based Evirom FC 6-1

Hungry Lions held the 2019 Central Region FAM Women’s League runners-up Skippers in an exciting 2- all draw.

Chilinde Queens on the other hand suffered a 3-0 loss against TC 11 FC courtesy of Glory Sichinga, Jessy Mandevu and Ellen Sokani’s goals.

North had one match following the cancellation of the Sanwecka Sisters-Topik Dynamos match as Sanwecka failed to produce mandatory Mpira Connect ID Cards. Topik were awarded a 2-0 win 3 points.

MK Academy on the other hand beat Gafu Sisters 2-0.

In Sunday’s matches in the South, Ntopwa host Sitima Yoce at Kamuzu Stadium while Attu Bullets will be at home against Chikhwawa Queen at Sitima Ground in Zomba.

In the Centre , defending National champions DD Sunshine will take on debutants Destiny Academy at Lilongwe Community Ground while Chisomo Academy will face Ascent Soccer at Kasungu Stadium.

In the North Moyale Sisters are meeting Ekwendeni Sisters at Luwinga Technical Center while Chicago Sister will face Cy Sisters at Mzuzu Stadium.
