Civil Service (Civo) United have dismissed their coach Oscar Kaunda because he does not have the required CAF B coaching license minimum requirement.
Civo general secretary Charles Mwenda confirmed the development saying the decision was made by the executive committee in line with FAM and Sulom’s announcement on the minimum requirement effective next season.
“Mr. Kaunda has been relieved of his duties because he does not possess that license,” he said.
However, Mwenda said they are yet to identify his replacement.
Kaunda led the civil servants to the Standard bank Knockout Cup glory last season after beating Be Forward Wanderers 1-0 in the finals.
Meanwhile, TNM Super League newcomers Chilumba Barracks have hired former Mafco and Airborne Rangers mentors Sterio Gondwe as their new head coach.
Gondwe, who is also national beach soccer team coach, confirmed the development saying he is set to get down to work next week.
“It is a challenge that i have accepted with both hands as this is a team that will be playing in the Super League for the first time and I look forward to the task,” he said.
