Chombo Names 29-Member Squad for U20 World Cup Qualifiers

Malawi U20 National Women’s team Coach Maggie Chombo has named a 29-member squad to start camp in preparation for back-to-back FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Preliminary Round qualifying matches against South Sudan this month.

Chombo has recalled fifteen players who were part of the team that played Central African Republic in the U20 World Cup first preliminary round games in May.

The team is expected to start Camping in Blantyre on September 13.

Malawi will start the WC Campaign away in Juba on September 23, before hosting South Sudan in Jubbah for the second leg on Friday 26 September.

FAM has made an agreement with the South Sudan Football Federation to host both legs of the tie in Juba due to the tight schedule at BNS with CAF interclub assignments.

The winner between the two teams will face the winner between Guinea Bissau or Congo in the next round.
