Chombo Names 27 Player Squad for U20 World Cup Qualifiers

Malawi Under 20 Women’s National Team head coach Maggie Chombo has named a 27-member squad to begin preparations for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup preliminary round qualifiers against Guinea Bissau scheduled for February.

Chombo has recalled 18 players who were part of the squad that faced South Sudan in the second preliminary round of the U20 World Cup qualifiers played in September last year.

The team is expected to enter camp in Blantyre on 26 January.

Malawi will begin their World Cup qualifying campaign away in Bissau on 7 February before hosting the return leg at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday, 14 February.

The winner on aggregate will advance to the final qualifying round, where they will face the winner between Nigeria and Senegal.
