Football Association of Malawi General Secretary Abdul Chiwalo and Executive Committee Member Chimango Munthali have successfully completed the CAF Football Management Executive Programme.
The duo were among 30 participants who successfully completed the second edition of the programme, which was delivered in partnership with the University of Cape Town and culminated in a graduation ceremony held at the university in South Africa on Friday, 30 January.
The six month executive programme brought together football a

Participants undertook in depth modules covering football administration, strategic planning, sponsorship and commercial development, communication and organisational leadership, with sessions delivered by a distinguished faculty of international speakers and industry experts.
CAF Director of Member Associations Sarah Mukuna said the programme represents a strategic investment in the future of African football.
“The CAF Football Management Executive Programme is CAF’s strategic investment in the future of African football. Strong leadership and sound governance are essential to building credible, competitive and sustainable football institutions,” said Mukuna.
She added that the programme equips Member Associations with the skills, knowledge and values required to meet high global standards of football governance.
The CAF Football Management Executive Programme forms part of CAF’s broader capacity building and institutional strengthening strategy aimed at establishing a well governed football ecosystem across the continent, supported by competent and forward looking leadership.
The graduation of Chiwayo and Munthali is expected to further strengthen FAM’s governance structures and support the Association’s ongoing Football Transformation Agenda.
