Castel Cup Round of 32 Continues This Weekend

The Round of 32 of the Castel Challenge Cup continues this weekend with five fixtures lined up as teams battle for places in the last 16 of the competition.

Action begins on Saturday, 10 January, when Chitipa United host Lower Shire side Bereu Giants at Chitipa Stadium. The winner of this encounter will book a Round of 16 meeting with Kamuzu Barracks.

On Sunday, 11 January, Creck Sporting Club welcome Goshen City Dedza Dynamos to Aubrey Dimba Stadium. The two sides last met on Christmas Eve in league action, where Creck edged Dynamos 1–0. The winner of this tie will face Karonga United in the next round.

In the North, Songwe Border will host FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at Karonga Stadium. Ndirande Stars await the winner of this fixture in the Round of 16. Songwe will be seeking revenge after suffering a 3–1 home defeat to Bullets in their league meeting back in August.

Midweek action follows on Thursday, 15 January, when Namitete Zitha take on Silver Strikers at Aubrey Dimba Stadium. The victor will advance to face Mzuzu City Hammers in the Round of 16.

The final fixture of this phase will be played at Rumphi Stadium, where Moyale Barracks host Bangwe All Stars. The winner will earn a date with defending champions Mighty Wanderers.
