Castel Cup Quarterfinal Line Up Complete After Dramatic Last 16

The Castel Cup continues to gather momentum following the conclusion of the Round of 16, with all quarterfinal pairings now confirmed after a series of tightly contested matches and a subsequent draw.

Holders Mighty Wanderers booked their place in the quarterfinals courtesy of a brace from Thiery Tanjong Sama as the Nomads edged Moyale Barracks at Rumphi Stadium. The Blantyre based side will now face the winner between Mzuzu City Hammers and Silver Strikers.

At Mpira Stadium in Blantyre, Mighty Tigers progressed after a 3 to 2 post match penalty victory over Civil Service United, following a 1 to 1 draw in regulation time. The Kau Kau Boys have been drawn against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, who eliminated Ndirande Stars.

In another encounter, Chitipa United caused a major upset after defeating Kamuzu Barracks 5 to 3 on post match penalties after the teams played out a goalless draw. Chitipa United will now take on Blue Eagles, who advanced following their victory over Airborne Rangers.

Meanwhile, Goshen City Dedza Dynamos secured a quarterfinal clash against Ekhaya FC after edging Karonga United 1 to 0, with the decisive moment coming from an own goal by Sinto Simon.

The Castel Cup quarterfinal stage is scheduled to kick off this weekend.
