Castel Challenge Cup update: Eight Districts teams in national phase

About eight districts teams over the weekend booked their places in the Castle Challenge Cup national Phase.

The six  who won their respective districts preliminary phase final matches are  Nkhangazaona (Mchinji) Dowa Hammers (Dowa), Mgwrizina  (Salima), Magang’a FC (Dedza), Ntcheu Young Soccer (Ntcheu), Welfare (Nkhotakota) Red Devils (Likoma) and Mafana Mafana (Chitipa).

The Northern Region Football League also identified five of its six representatives for the national phase. Kadona Stars, Ekwendeni United, Luviri FC, Raiply FC, Iponga FC won their  Regional Preliminary phase last round encounters over the weekend to book their places in the next phase

Kadona beat Kamntchnja 3-1 while Ekwendeni were 2-0 winners over Nyungwe United. Iponga beat Mayamiko Stars 1-0 while Kuviri beat Baka City 2-0. Reply beat Jenda United 2-0 while the match between Khuyu Cobras and Chipolopolo FC was postponed.

Most of the districts are expected to wind up their championships this weekend while the Central Regional League Preliminary phase will know its national reps between tomorrow and Thursday.

Tomorrow Kawinga will play St Gabriel Medical at Nankhaka while Silver Strikers Reserve will face Ngolowindo at Champions Stadium. Mitundu will host  Spearhead  at Blue Gym. On Thursday  Chisomo Academy will play Mangoni Warriors while Mtengenji Monaco will play Dedza Young Soccer. Villa Fc will play Leyman Panthers.
