Defending Champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Nyasa Big Bullets, Mafco and Dedza Dynamos are through to the Semifinals of the FDH Bank Cup.
Post-match penalties had to separate the three teams from their opponents as all the games ended in stale-mate at the end of regulation time.
On Saturday, Nyasa Big Bullets were away in Lilongwe facing Extreme FC at Civo Stadium as Gregory Mwase scored Extreme’s goal at 21 minutes.
Just as people thought it was over, Ephraim Kondowe netted in an equaliser for the defending champions a minute to the final whistle and Bullets won 2-4 on post-match penalties.
In Blantyre, Bangwe All Stars lost to Mafco FC at home as they failed to utilise the chances they had during the match which resulting to a goalless draw by the end of 90 minutes.
In the post-match penalties, Bangwe’s Yamikani Mologeni missed his spot kick of the five while Mafco scored all their penalties to book a place in the Semifinals.
On Sunday, Moyale Barracks kissed goodbye to the FDH Bank Cup after a 3-2 post match penalty loss to Dedza Dynamos at Dedza Stadium.
Gastin Simkonda was the first to score for Moyale at 10 minutes before Limbani Phiri’s spot-kick equaliser at 32 minutes.
None of the two teams managed to score a winning goal in the second half taking the match to post-match penalties and the hosts won 3-2 in the shoot-outs.
In the last round of 16 match played at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers defeated Southern Region Football League team Zingwangwa United FC with four goals to one to book a place in the Quarterfinals.
Gaddie Chirwa, Isaac Kaliati, Chiukepo Msowoya and Francis Mkonda were on the score sheet for Wanderers while Mwai Banda scored a consolation goal for Zingwangwa.
Wanderers will face Santhe Admarc in the last quarterfinal match which will be played next Saturday at Mpira Stadium.
