Bullets extend lead in TNM Super League

TNM Super League defending champions Big Bullets’ remarkable run continued on Saturday when they pipped their age-old rivals Mighty be Forward Wanderers 1-0 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
Bullets have now gone 10 points clear at the top following Mafco’s 4-1 thumping of Blue Eagles at Chitowe Stadium in Dwangwa. Maurice Chiumia, Hassan Chapola, Saidi Mtekama and Emmanuel Chipeta were on target for Mafco while Rankin Mwale scored the face saver for the cops.
This was the Nomads third consecutive league loss, they are now 15 points behind Bullets.
They are also yet to earn a point in the second round of the league campaign that has seen them lose to Civo United, Kamuzu Barracks and Bullets in that order.
Bullets now 41 points from 17 games, 10 ahead of Mafco who dislodged Eagles from second position.
Eagles, Azam Tigers and Silver Strikers are all tied at 29 points and are separated by goal difference.
Bullets’ sniper Jaffalie Chande claimed the lone goals of the match in the 52nd minute when he ultilised a comical goalkeeping error by Richard Chipuwa to slot the ball home.
This was Wanderers’ third successive league loss after suffering similar defeats to Civo United and Kamuzu Barracks. They are yet to register a win in the second-round.
Bottom-placed Fisd Wizards’ poor run continued on Sunday when they lost 1-0 to Epac via Kelvin Nthotho’s goal. Wizards have 11 points from 18 games while Epac are 11th with 18 points from 18 games.
Dedza Young Soccer stunned Moyale with a 1-0 win. Ferguson Mtondo scored the lone goal. Dedza are 12th also with 18 points from the same number of games. Moyale are 10th with 20 points from 17 games.
In other games played yesterday, Red Lions beat Epac 1-1, Mafco stunned Blue Eagles 4-1 while Mzuni bagged three points after beating Dedza Young Soccer 2-1.
