
Big Bullets were crowned TNM Super League champions in style at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday.
They beat Civo United 3-1 to wind up the season with 66 points, representing a record 16-point gap.
It also marked the end of the 2015 season There were scenes so lovely after the match as the People’s Team turned the stadium into a theatre of celebrations which extended to the townships later on.
Come Monday, the Peoples Team was given a fitting send-off by their Lilongwe-based fans who escorted them to Bunda Turn-Off as their convoy moved at snail’s pace.
Thousands of fans also lined up at strategic points between Lilongwe and Blantyre to salute their heroes for a job well done.
The hosts nearly spoiled Bullets title celebrations after going ahead five minutes into play through a Gerald Nkungula goal.
He connect home a free kick from Nelson Kangunje. Bullets equalised on the half hour mark, albeit through an own goal when Chiukepo Msowoya’s header was aided into the net by Richard Chande.

It was not long before Bullets killed the game through Chiukepo well curled free kick from over 25 meters.
Bullets coach Mabvuto Lungu said it was important to win convincingly.
” We needed to make a statement that it is not a fluke that we have been crowned champions, ” said Lungu.
