Beach Soccer team start AFCON camp

The Malawi National Beach Soccer Team have started camping ahead of the 2022 Beach Soccer Afcon finals scheduled between October 21-28 in Vilankulo, Mozambique.

The team regrouped at Matundi Cottage in Salima on Sunday afternoon and training started on Monday at Livingstonia Beach.

Head Coach Willy Kumilambe has named a 25 member squad for camping and  says all the boys who have reported for duties are responding positively to the training sessions.

“After the Tanzania match, we have been moving around the beach soccer centers to search for players so that we beef-up the squad that played against Tanzania.

“All the boys are responding positively to our instructions and we hope that we are going to work on the weaknesses that we noted in the previously matches as we prepare for the Afcon show,” said Kumilambe.

The Willy Kumilambe side are in Group A alongside hosts Mozambique, Nigeria and Morocco.
