Beach Eagles Begin Title Defence Against Peninsula

Defending champions Beach Eagles will begin their 2025 FAM Beach Soccer National Championship title defence against Peninsula this weekend at Arnold Lakeshore Resort in Nkhotakota, as they chase a historic fourth consecutive title after winning the competition three times in a row.

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) conducted the official draw on Tuesday at Mpira Village in Blantyre, confirming the group stage fixtures for the competition scheduled for 16 and 17 May 2026.

In Group A, hosts Vinthenga from Nkhotakota have been drawn alongside Peninsula from Karonga and defending champions Beach Eagles from Nkhata Bay.

Group B comprises Umodzi from Salima, Nkopola from Mangochi and Rank from Nkhotakota.

The tournament will kick off on Saturday morning with Rank facing Nkopola before Beach Eagles open their campaign against Peninsula. Umodzi will then take on Rank, while Vinthenga face Peninsula in another Group A encounter. Nkopola will later play Umodzi, before Beach Eagles conclude the group stages against Vinthenga.

The top two teams from each group will progress to Sunday’s semi-finals, with the winners advancing to the final, while the losing sides will contest the third-place playoff.
