The draw for the 2016 Presidential Cup Regional Playoffs will take place on Tuesday 26th April 2016 at the Mpira Village in Blantyre.
During the Regional Playoffs Districts Champions, Regional Leagues teams, Under 20 teams will be paired against Super League teams in their respective regions for the Regional Playoffs teams.
Teams that finished in the top eight in the Super League last season will be seeded in the regional playoffs draw in sense that they will avoid facing each other in their respective regional first round draw. The winners of the first round matches involving seeded teams will again be seeded for the second round draw.
After the Regional play offs 16 teams of which 7 from the South, 5 from the Centre and 4 from the North will qualify for the National round of 16 draw.
The following will be the draw procedures in each respective region:
SOUTH
Round one
26 Teams will compete in the first round draw and will comprise of:
• The 13 districts champions
i) Umodzi FC – Nsanje
ii) Sable Farming- Blantyre
iii) Dululu- Chikwawa
iv) Chiradzulu Police- Chiradzulu
v) Sayama- Mulanje
vi) Mwanza Madrid – Mwanza
vii) Chikolomo- Mangochi
viii) Migowi FC- Phalombe
ix) Partners in Health- Neno
x) Songani Veterans – Zomba
xi) Balaka Eagles- Balaka
xii) Nsanama- Machinga
xiii) Victory Rangers- Thyolo
• Four Regional Leagues teams-
i) MDF Marine
ii) Cobbe Barracks
iii) Zomba United
iv) Hard Knockers.
• Three Youth Teams
i) Maggie Chombo Academy- Blantyre
ii) Disciples- Zomba
iii) Police Reserves
• Six Super League Teams of which Nyasa Big Bullets, Mighty Be Forward Wanderers, Azam Tigers and Red Lions will be seeded and other two Max Bullets and Wizards FC
• This round will produce 13 winners
Round Two
The 13 winners will go into the second round draw where the last team to be drawn out will be on bye and the remaining 12 teams will be drawn to battle for the six slots in the National draw.
CENTRE
23 teams will compete in the preliminary draw and will comprise of:
• The 9 districts champions
i) Madisi Madrid- Dowa
ii) Ambassadors FC – Ntchisi
iii) Dwangwa Town Hammers- Nkhotakota
iv) Tiakalulu- Lilongwe
v) Maganga- Salima
vi) Chulu- Kasungu
vii) Nkanda Youth- Mchinji
viii) Lake Valley – Ntcheu
ix) Dedza Young Soccer Reserves- Dedza
• Four Regional Leagues teams-
i) Kasungu Medicals
ii) Master Security
iii) Nsundwe
iv) Food FC
• Three Youth Teams
i) Pac United- Lilongwe
ii) Soccer Saints- Dedza
iii) Mkweza Youth- Mchinji
• Seven Super League Teams of which Mafco, Blue Eagles and Silver Strikers and Kamuzu Barracks will be seeded and the other three Epac FC, Civo United and Dwangwa United
• The last team to be drawn out will be on bye while the other 22 will battle for the 11 places in the second round.
This round will produce 11 winners
Round Two
The 11 winners plus the team on bye will go into the second round draw that is aimed at producing the six winners.
Round Three
From the six second round winners two winners will be drawn to play in the Third round play-off that will give the required number of five teams to qualify for the National draw.
NORTH
15 teams will compete in the preliminary draw and will comprise of:
• The 7 districts champions

iv) Rumphi Pirates – Rumphi
v) Manyamula- Mzimba
vi) Usisya- Nkhatabay

• Two Youth Teams
i) Ipota- Karonga

• The first team to be drawn out will be on bye while the other 14 will battle for the 7 places in the second round. This round will produce 7 winners
Round Two
The 7 winners plus the team on bye will go into the second round draw that is aimed at producing four winners to qualify for the National draw.
The Regional Playoffs will be played between the 30th April and 11th of May 2016.
