All set for Flames fundraising golf

All is set for Flames Africa Cup of Nations fundraising Golf Tournament slated for Lilongwe Golf Club on Sartuday.

The main aim of the event is to raise  funds for Flames participation at next year’s Afcon finals in Cameroon.

FAM Vice President Justice Jabbar Alide, who is also the Chairperson of Flames Afcon Resource Mobilisation Task Force addressed the media on Friday ahead of the event.

Justice Alide said the Task Force has received overwhelming response from the corporate world.

He also disclosed that the committee has managed to raise about K50million out of the targetted K30million.k

“ I am very optimistic that we will reach K60million through the golf tournament. The corporate world has been so kind to us and they understand our plidght,” Justice Alide said.

He said apart from the monetary sponsorships, several service providers have pledged different products.

Taking his turn, Lilongwe Golf Club, Captain Thomas Chafunya, said they are set for the big event.

“All  logistical arrangements have been finalised. We are ready to host the event. We all wish the Flames to do well at the Afcon finals,” Chafunya said.

State Vice President Saulos Chilima will tee off in the morning on Sartuday. Different companies have provided support to the Flames.

The event will be beamed live on Mpira Television and Mibawa Television.
