The National Women Football Association (NWFA) in collaboration with Football Association of Malawi (FAM) organised a football management for women football administrators in the Central Region.
The two-day workshop, which started on August 16, was held at Simama Hotel in Lilongwe and was opened by FAM vice-president James Mwenda.
Also in attendance was FAM chief executive officer Suzgo Nyirenda who appealed to the participants to make use of the knowledge gained.
During the opening ceremony, Mwenda said the aim of the course is to empower women football administrators with administrative skills so as to improve management of the game.
“The course will help the administrators to be professional in the way they administer the game, which will in turn, improve the standards of our game,” said Mwenda.
The FAM veep also said they are hoping that those that are attending the course will also transfer the knowledge they have gained to others.
National Women Football Association (NWFA) chairperson Severia Chalira, who is also a FAM executive member, said they are planning to conduct similar courses in the South and North.
