Super League first round registers 294 goals

Joint leading scorer: Wadabwa

The first round of the TNM Super League which ended last Sunday, registered 294 goals with Blue Eagles finishing at the summit of the table with 32 points.
The are followed by Silver Strikers with 29 points.
The last games were between defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets and Dwangwa United which ended goalless in Dwangwa where as Mzuzu University (Mzuni) FC thumped Be Forward Wanderers 4-1 away at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre
The Malawi Police Service (MPS) outfit also scored the highest number of goals—29—while Azam Tigers conceded the least number of goals—nine.
Rookies MTV Max Bullets, who anchor the table with seven points, had the weakest defence having conceded 32 goals.
Dwangwa United failed yet to register a win at home while Kamuzu Barracks, Wizards FC, Karonga United and MTV Max Bullets could not chalk a win away.
Eagles, Mafco, Moyale, Kamuzu Barracks and Nyasa Big Bullets did not lose at home while Wanderers were good travellers as they did not lose away.
With seven draws Kamuzu Barracks recorded the highest number of draws.
Stevie Msiska of Karonga United and Stevie Chagoma of Blue Eagles have been the unlucky ones to score past their own gaolminders.
Maxwell Salambula (twice), Peter Wadabwa, Anthony Banda and Gastin Simkonda have managed to score hat tricks in the elite league so far.
Richard Mbulu of Mafco and Peter Wadabwa of Be Forward Wanderers are the top scorers with 11 goals each.
282 cards were flashed of which 14 have been red cards. Mzuni F.C have accumulated the most cards (31) of which two are red and are followed by Red Lions with 27 cards (2 red). MTV Max Bullets have the least cards only (7). Timothy Chitedze has been shown the most cards (7) followed by Chikoti Chirwa (6) and Ntopijo Njewa (5).
Gilbert Chirwa of Blue Eagles was player of the month of April 2016, Lughindiko Mushani of Mzuni F.C was player of the month of May 2016, Thuso Paipi of Silver Strikers was player of the month of June 2016 and Peter Wadabwa was player of the month of July 2016.
