Malawi could scrape through to the quarter-finals of the Cosafa Under-17 Championship in Mauritius if they beat guest side Kenya on Tuesday.
The Junior Flames and Kenya are tied on three points behind leaders Zambia who have six, but Malawi has a better goal difference.
While Malawi lost 3-0 to Zambia on Sunday, Kenya were beaten 4-0 by the Young Chipolopolo.
Malawi and Kenya beat Madagascar by 2-1 margins.
But Malawi Under-17 coach Deklerk Msakakuona said they will fight for a win.
“Even if a draw will be enough, our target will be to win the match,” he said.
Zambia sealed their qualification after winning their two first games against guest side Kenya and Malawi.
The Young Chipolopolo were dominant from the off against the Junior Flames as they led 2-0 inside 14 minutes after goals from Damiano Kola and Benjamin Phiri.
They might have added to that tally as they spurned a number of opportunities, before Nicholas Mulilo grabbed his third goal of the tournament with 16 minutes remaining.
Zambia have now scored seven goals and conceded none in defence of the title as they confirm their status as one of the pre-tournament favourites.
