Nyasa Big Bullets on Wednesday invade Blue Eagles’ Nankhaka fortress in Lilongwe for their Presidential Cup quarter-final qualifying encounter.
The cops are hoping to recover from their first Super League defeat of the season at the hands of Silver Strikers while Bullets are looking forward to keep their ambitious dream for a treble alive.
Bullets set the tempo for the potentially explosive tie by spying on the cops when they sent their coach Franco Ndawa and technical director Billy Tewesa to watch the cops’ regional play-off match against Silver last week. Eagles won the match on post-match penalties.
“We are ready for Eagles, of course on paper, they appear favourites because they will be at home but that does not bother us at all.
“Our preparations have gone on well,” said Tewesa.
On his part, Eagles coach Deklerk Msakakuwona exercised caution and predicted a tough encounter.
“Of course we have picked ourselves up after the weekend loss to Silver. This will be a different game altogether but it will be tough,” said Msakakuwona.
Bullets will bank their hopes on their hitman Chiukepo Msowoya, Muhammad Sulumba, Dalitso Sailesi and Kabichi while on the other hand Eagles will look up to John Malidadi Jnr, Phillip Masiye and veteran Charles Ngosi.
