Heaven Stars set the pace in FAM Women League


Heaven Stars started their campaign in the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Southern Region Women Football Association (SRWFA) League on a good note on Sunday when they beat hosts Chikwawa Sisters 4-2 to top the eight-team log-table.
Deborah Makumba, Rachael Gonani, Aisha Tepani and Naomi Fatchi scored for the Stars while Shelo Bonongwe scored twice for Chikwawa..
Following the victory, the Stars top the table with three points, thanks to a better aggregate.
Bangwe Super Queens are second on the ladder after they outclassed Dreams United 3-1, while Sitima Sisters are third following their 2-0 beating of Prison Queens.
Defending champions Blantyre Zero have taken a fourth place as a result of their 1-0 triumph over their rivals
Ntopwa Super Queens, who are fifth on the table with no point.
According to SRWFA fixtures secretary Wilson Ndelemani, each team will play seven games before the end of the first round.
