Presidential Cup reg. play-offs in last round

Wanderers set to continue from where they left when they beat Cobbe last week

The Presidential Cup regional play-offs last round matches commence on Tuesday when two-time winners Be Forward Wanderers host Zomba-based non-leaguers Songani Veterans at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
The Zomba District champions have since warned Be Forward Wanderers not to expect an easy match.
Songani’s coach Lewis Malikula said his side is not worried with the prospects of facing the Lali Lubani Road outfit, who on paper, are odds on favourites.
“They are going to feature eleven players just like ourselves. We are not panicking at all. They will underrate us at their own peril,” said Malikula.
Songani Veterans will pin their hopes on Robert Chigundo and Osman Rajab.
On the other hand, star-studded Be Forward Wanderers will depend on their new signings— Nigerian marksman Amos Bello, Peter Wadabwa and Jaffalie Chande.
However, in an interview on Monday Nomads’ assistant team manager Stevie Madeira said they cannot toy around with the idea of underestimating Songani.
“We cannot toy around with the idea of underrating them. Usually, small teams come flat out when they are facing bigger teams because they want to prove a point,” said Madeira.
In other fixtures, Silver Strikers take on Dedza Young Soccer Reserves at Silver Stadium whereas Epac face Maganga FC at Civo Stadium. Dwangwa United meet Kasungu Medicals at Chitowe Stadium.
In the North, Karonga United take on Rumphi Pirates at Mzuzu Stadium.
Following are the rest of the fixtures for Wednesday: Azam Tigers vs Umodzi FC at Kalulu Stadium; Nyasa Big Bullets versus MDF Marine at Kamuzu Stadium; Red Lions vs Nsanama FC at Balaka Stadium; Wizards FC vs Partners in Health at Mpira Stadium; Mafco vs Ambassadors at Chitowe; Civo United vs Master Security at Civo Stadium; Masendesende vs Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium. On Thursday: Blue Eagles vs Dwangwa Town Hammers at Nankhaka; Max Bullets vs. Hard Knockers at Kalulu
