Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers played out a one-all draw in the the Blantyre Derby at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday as the TNM Super League entered the third week.
In the Lilongwe derby, Silver Strikers emerged 2-1 winners over Civil Service (Civo) United to refister their first win of the season while in Mzuzu, Mzuni pipped Moyale Barracks 1-0.
The Blantyre derby failed to live to expectations as both teams appeared fragile and sluggish although, the Nomads were slightly the better side.
Nigerian forward Amos Belo put the Nomads ahead in the 12th minute, but Bullets cancelled the lead through a penalty converted by Chiukepo Msowoya later on in the first half.
The penalty was awarded after defender Nomads defender Foster Namwera had handled in the box.
Both teams now have five points from three games.
In Lilongwe, Thuso Paipi put Silver in front but Civo’s Nelson Kangunje cancelled the lead before Bitwell Katinji hit the winner for the Bankers.
Blue Eagles extended their lead at the summit of the log table with a 5-3 win over rookies Max Bullets to make it four out of four wins.
Eagles’ Maxwell Salambula scored the first league of the season while Gregory Nachipo and Charles Ngori scored the other goals.
Samson Chonde (2) and Bongani Zulu were on target for Max Bullets.
Mzuni’s win over Moyale, which came courtesy of Lwitiko Mushani’s goal, took them to second position with seven points from three games.
Wizards also won their first game 1-0 against Red lions.
