26 coaches graduate with CAF A Licences

Maggie Chombo the only female CAF A holder receiving her certificate from Nyamilandu

A total of 26 coaches added a feather to their coaching caps when they attained CAF A Coaching licences.
The course was held last year and the certificates were presented during the Football Association of (FAM) extraordinary general meeting (EGM) held at Chiwembe Technical centre in Blantyre last Saturday.
National Football Coaches Association (NFCA) general secretary Benjamin Kumwenda came tops after scoring 98 percent followed by Blue Eagles mentor Deklerk Msakakuona while national women football team coach Thom Mkorongo came third.
Some of the coaches who attained the badge were Maggie Chombo—the only woman coach to have such a high qualification on the domestic scene—Abas Makawa, Milias Pofera Jegwe, Abel Mkandawire, Hethwick Mkumbaleza and Treveor Kajawa.
All the coaches who attended the course passed and FAM president Walter Nyamilandu described the 100 percent pass rate as a big boost towards football development.
“My plea to the clubs is that give these coaches a chance. I also urge you coaches not to stay idle but to put the knowledge you have gained into practice,” he said.
