Wanderers in third successive win

Nomads in top form

Be Forward Wanderers on Sunday registered their third successive win in the TNM Super League second round as their revival continued albeit too late.
The Nomads beat relegated Airborne Rangers 3-2 at Chitowe ground in Dwangwa to boost their chances of a top four finish.
Patrick Gunde, Ibrahim Sadiki and revived Alfred Manyozo Jnr were on target for Wanderers while Smith Kawasasi and Joseph Domsa scored for Airborne.
The two teams were tied one-all at half time, but the Nomads went on to score two more goals before the hosts reduced the deficit.
The Nomads are still fifth with 42 points, a point short of fourth-placed Silver Strikers. They both have a single game before they wind up the season.
Third-placed Blue Eagles closed in on second-placed Mafco following a 5-1 thumping of relegated rookies Fisd Wizards at Nankhaka ground in Lilongwe.
Charles Ngosi and Wister Phiri claimed a brace each while Osward Maonga netted the other. Mark Fodya scored the consolation goal for Wizards through a penalty.
Eagles now have 47 points, three short of Mafco going into their last matches which could determine this season’s runner-up to champions Big Bullets.
At Civo Stadium in Lilongwe, Red Lions beat Kamuzu Barracks 2-0 courtesy of Steve Ziba and Innocent Bokosi’s strike. Bokosi has taken his tally to 14 goals in his pursuit for the Golden Boot Award.
Breathing down his neck is Big Bullets’ Chiukepo Msowoya who has 13 goals.
In another match, Azam Tigers beat Civo United 2-1.
