Flames not underrating Djibouti

Mtawali not taking chances

Malawi national football team coach Ernest Mtawali has said they are not underrating Djibouti whom they face in their next Group C Cecafa Challenge Cup match on Wednesday.
The Flames beat Sudan’s Falcons of Jediane 2-1 in their opening group match on Monday through goals from captain Chiukepo Msowoya and debutante Dalitso Sailesi.
“The win against Sudan was a morale booster, but we are not going to sit on our laurels just because we beat Djibouti by a deluge of goals the last time we played them.
“As I keep on saying, football is a dynamic game in which the tide keeps on changing and we need to exercise caution,” said Mtawali.
The last time the Flames faced Djibouti was during the joint 2010 World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations’ qualifiers and the Flames came out 11-1 triumphant on aggregate.
“It is going to be a different game altogether and we are going to fight from the word go right up to the end,” said Mtawali from Bahir Dar on Monday evening.
The Flames last group game will be against South Sudan on Friday.
