Silver Strikers’ star forward Green Harawa has caught up with Red Lions’ Innocent Bokosi in the race for the TNM Super League Golden Boot award race.
Harawa scored his 12th goal on Saturday when he netted Silver’s second goal in their 2-1 win over capital city rivals Civo United.
On the other hand, Bokosi failed to hit the target as his team Red Lions lost 1-2 to fellow soldiers Moyale at Balaka Stadium.
Breathing down the duo’s neck is Civo’s hitman Nelson Kangunje who has 11 goals while Chiukepo Msowoya is fourth with 10 goals.
Chiukepo’s twin striker Jaffalie Chande is tied on eight goals with Blue Eagles’ Schumacher Kuwali.
Kuda Muyaba (Moyale), John Malidadi Jnr (Blue Eagles), Kumbukani Mwambeni (Red Lions) and Bright Munthali (Azam Tigers) have scored seven goals apiece whereas Peter Wadabwa (Silver Strikers), Chisomo Gillion (Dedza Young Soccer), Harvey Mkacha (Kamuzu Barracks) have scored six goals each.
Last season’s Golden Boot award winner was Moyale’s Gastin Simkonda who is outside the country on military duty.
