The Standard Bank Knockout Cup organising committee has announced venues and dates for the semi-final matches.
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) competitions manager Gomezgani Zakazaka confirmed that Big Bullets will take on Civo United in the first semi-final encounter at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Thursday October 15.
“October 15 is a public holiday as it is Mother’s day and the organising committee thought it wise to schedule the first semi-final on that day,” said Zakazaka.
The second semi-final showdown involving Be Forward Wanderers and Blue Eagles is slated for Civo Stadium in Lilongwe two days later—on Saturday October 17.
To qualify for the semis, Bullets pipped Moyale 1-0 whereas Civo beat Dedza Young Soccer 2-0.
Wanderers and Blue Eagles saw off Red Lions and last year’s champions Silver Strikers respectively by 1-0 margins.
