Flames midfielder Micium Mhone made his debut for his South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Jomo Cosmos on Sunday in a 0-2 defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Although Mhone was introduced as second half substitute 13 minutes to full time, he still showed flashes of individual brilliance.
Experienced midfielder Robert Ng’ambi scored his second league goal as his team Platinum Stars beat SuperSport United 3-1 on Saturday to go top of the PSL with 14 points from six matches.
Ng’ambi scored the third for Dikwena. He is the only Malawian player to have scored in the league so far.
Flames stand-in captain Limbikani Mzava played a full game as his side Mpumalanga Black Aces thrashed Maritzburg United 4-1.
Atusaye Nyondo also played a full games as his team University of Pretoria went down 0-2 to Frank ‘Gabadinho’ Mhango’s Bloemfontein Celtic.
Meanwhile, Gabadinho has full recovered from injury and is now available for selection.
“I am now fit and sound and I have made a few appearances for the reserve side. I am in shape and looking forward to returning to the national team,” he said in an interview from South Africa.
