TNM Super League defending champions Big Bullets kept up the momentum in their quest to retain the title when they won their second game against rookies Surestream FC 3-1 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Sunday.
Bullets made an impressive start to the flagship league the previous weekend when they beat Silver Strikers 2-1 in a launch game played in the capital, Lilongwe.
In Sunday’s game, striker Jaffalie Chande was the toast of the afternoon for Bullets when he struck a brace while his striking partner Mussa Manyenje netted the other in between.
Peter ‘N’janga’ Msowoya scored the consolation for Surestream, his third in this campaign so far.
Bullets are now joint top with six points from two games.
Expensively assembled Mighty Be Forward Wanderers gave away a two-goal lead against Azam Tigers to be held 2-all on Saturday. This was after the Nomads had taken a comfortable 2-0 lead through Sparrow Msowoya and their new hitman Muhammad Sulumba.
It was Sulumba’s third league goal. But Tigers wake up from their slumber to level terms through Dan Kumwenda and Peter Katsonga.
The Nomads now have four points having won their first game 3-1 against Epac the previous weekend.
Moyale Barracks who set the pace for the 2015 season by leading the table in the first week, had a miserable outing to Lilongwe last weekend where they lost both their games to Blue Eagles 2-0 and Epac 2-1.
Moyale have four points from four games as they won and drew their first two games.
Five teams are still winless after round two of matched played over the weekend and these are Mzuni, Surestream FC, Airborne Rangers, Civo United and Silver Strikers.
Blue Eagles’ striker John Malidadi Jnr is the leading scorer with four goals.
