FAM NATIONAL BEACH SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP SEMIS SET

Nyasa, Deep Bay,Tourism and Beach Eagles have qualified into the semi finals of the 2024 FAM National Beach soccer Championship after coming out of victors in their group games each at Sunbird Livingstonia beach in Salima District on Saturday 26th, April 2025.

Nyasa Beach soccer team from Mangochi beat Deep Bay 7-4 in their opening match before beating Vinthenga 9-0 in the second match.

On the other hand Tourism from Salima District overcame Beach Eagles 3-2 in the first game and 5-2 against Black Eagles.

Deep Bay and Beach Eagles booked their semifinal places after winning 1 game each from their groups

Deep Bay defeated Vinthenga 8-7 whereas Beach Eagles beat Black Eagles 5-1 to book their Semifinal place.

In the semifinals on Sunday 27 April, 2025 to be played at the same venue Nyasa will play against Beach Eagles, whereas Tourism will battle it out against Deep Bay.

Two teams namely Vinthenga and Black Eagles failed to qualify after losing out all their games

A total of 53 goals were scored on the first day with Nyasa scoring 16 goals.

The winner of this year’s tournament will cut home 5.5 Million from the Football Association of Malawi.

Meanwhile Beach Soccer Association of Malawi Chairperson Force Ngwira expressed gratitude with the way the competition was run on the first day.

“As an association we’re very happy with the way teams have played today, It shows that the teams prepared for this tournament and we expect another good performance on the final day”. Said Ngwira

Six teams from Mangochi, Nkhotakota, Nkhatabay, Salima and Karonga are taking part this year after qualifying from the regional leagues.

In other games Beach Eagles overpowered Black Eagles 5-1, while Deep Bay won 8-7 against Vinthenga.
