Fazili says scorchers training camp successful

Malawi Women’s national team coach Lovemore Fazili says the eight-day training  camp the team held recently has given him a picture of the players who are ready for upcoming international assignments.

The Scorchers  were in camp in the just ended Women’s FIFA Window between 8 and 16 July in preparation  for the COSAFA Women’s championship later this year.

This was the team’s first camp since winning the COSAFA Women’s Championship last year and Fazili said it was an important exercise to assess the girls after a long period.

“First of all, I  would like to thank the FA for this training. It has helped us a lot, considering  we have been idle for close to eight months without any activity

“ We had 31 players, and they did well in training giving us a picture of who are ready if we sure to go into  international assignments.  We would appreciate to be having this sessions on regular basis so that we continue building on the progress we made last,” he said.
