Nkhoma voted Castel Challenge best player

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets forward Lanjesi Nkhoma was on  Wednesday evening named the 2023 Castel Challenge Cup Player of the Tournament  during the Competitions awards gala at Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre.

Nkhoma beat teammate Hassan Kajoke and Silver Strikers forward Patrick for the accolade.

Emmanuel Saviel of Bangwe All Stars  saw off competition from teammate Talandira Chigagula and Chitipa United defender  Grem Lemela to win the Discovery Player of the Tournament award

Richard Chimbamba of Bullets was named  the best goalkeeper ahead of Silver Strikers stopper Pilirani Makupe and Bangwe United custodian Richard John.

Five players Peter Katsonga, Mphatso Philemon [both Mafco], Chiukepo Msowoya [Mighty Mukuru Wanderers], Gaston Simkonda [Moyale] and Patrick Macheso [Silver Strikers] shared the Golden Boot award having scored five goals each.

In the media category, Times Group journalist Isaac Salima was named the best in print category.

Richard Tiyesi of Timveni was voted the best in radio category while The Nation’s Photographer Bobby Kabango won photography category.

Joseph Dumbula of Mij won the best online category while Hankey Chimtengo of Mibawa won the best online category.

In the community radio category, Victor Musongoli (North), Jameson Kalima (Centre) and George Sulumba (South) emerged the best in their respective categories.
