The acts of hooliganism and vandalism that were perpetrated by a section of supporters who were not happy with the outcome of the match were uncalled for and put the game of Football into disrepute.

The Football Association of Malawi would like to inform all stakeholders that investigations are in progress to ascertain what happened and ensure that appropriate action is taken against the perpetrators of the acts of hooliganism and vandalism that occurred.

FAM would like to urge all football fans to refrain from such acts of hooliganism and vandalism that dent the good image of our beautiful game, retard its development and discourage sponsors.

FAM has received reports from match officials in regard to the match and will decide on the way forward.
