Bullets, Nomads to meet in FDH Bank Cup semis

Nyasa Big Bullets  will face bitter rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in the semifinals of the FDH Bank Cup after the two teams won their quartfianl ties on Saturday.

The Nomads beat Kamuzu Barracks 4-0 at Kamuzu Stadium while Bullets beat Chitipa United by 2-0 at Rumphi Stadium

Babatunde Adepoju slotted in a Chimwemwe Idana pass at 30 minutes before Anthony Mfune made use of Chitipa’s miscommunication at the back to double Bullets’ advantage at 61 minutes.

At Kamuzu Stadium, a goal each for Vincent Nyangulu, Francis Mkonda, Vitumbiko Kumwenda and Isaac Kaliati were enough to see the Chiwoko boys off.

The Alex Ngwira side won a penalty after a foul on Misheck Botoman in the box but Captain Stanley Sanudi’s spot kick hit the goalpost.

Vincent Nyangulu was however on target seven minutes later as he headed in Misheck Botoman’s cross.

Francis Mkonda  scored Wanderers’ second goal just five minutes into the second half before Vitumbiko Kumwenda extended the scoreline four minutes later.

Kamuzu’s Barracks won a penalty at 75 minutes as goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa fouled Kelvin Hanganda in the box and Zeliat Nkhoma sent Chipuwa the wrong way.

Isaac Kaliati added his name on the scoresheet  seven minutes to full time and it was 4-1 as Newton Nyirenda blew the final whistle.
