All set for the FDH Bank Cup National draw

All is set for the FDH Bank Cup national draw to be held this morning at the Mpira Village in Blantyre.

The draw will attract 32 teams with 16 coming from the Super League and the other 16 from the three regional leagues.

The Regional preliminary round started three weeks ago with 62 Regional League teams taking part. The South had 20 teams; the Centre had 24 teams while the North had 12 teams.

The Qualified teams for the national draw are as follows:

Super League

Silver Strikers, Nyasa Big Bullets, Civil Service United, Moyale Barracks, Ekwendeni Hammers, Red Lions, Be Foward Wanderers, MAFCO, Karonga United, T N Stars, Kamuzu Barracks, Blue Eagles, Ntopwa FC, Mzuzu Warriors F.C, Chitipa United, Tigers F.C

Southern Region Football League

Polytechnic, Be Forward Reserves, Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves, Neno Giants, Sable Farming and Immigration

Central Region Football League

Dedza Young Soccer, Dedza Dynamos, Simbi FC, Kasungu Police, Ngolowindo, Airborne Rangers

Northern Region Football League

Ekwendeni United, Rumphi United, Baka City, Luwinga United

The Draw

The draw will start with the round of 32 where by Top Eight Super League teams as at the end of the 2020/ 2021 TNM Super League first round namely: Silver Strikers, Nyasa Big Bullets, Civil Service F.C, Moyale Barracks, Ekwendeni Hammers, Red Lions, Be Forward Wanderers, Mafco F.C, will be seeded in the sense that they will not face each other .

They will be put in one pot and drawn against the other 24 teams in the other Pot.  However, during the draw involving the seeded teams there will be another draw to determine the home teams in the matches while the other draw the home team will be determined by the team drawn first. After that we will continue to do the draw for the round of 16.

The draw for quarterfinals will be done after the round of 16 while that of the semifinals and final will be done after the quarterfinal matches .
