NBS Bank dresses Charity Shield teams

Charity Shield sponsors NBS Bank has today presented playing kits to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Strikers who will face in the season opener on Saturday at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

James Chikaonda, Acting Head of Marketing said as a bank they are committed to supporting the Charity Shield for the next 3 seasons.

“We have been in partnership with FAM for the last two years to address some of the social plights in our communities through football. We helped people affected by Cyclone Anna in 2022 and in 2023, we managed to build houses at Mtauchira Village in Chiradzulu and financially assisted people who were affected by Cyclone Freddy.

“We brand ourselves as a caring bank and we believe in giving back to the communities that have helped us build our business and we are using football to raise this social tool”, he said.

FAM Marketing and Broadcasting Manager Tulipo Mwenelepembe hailed the bank for being a true partner of football in the country.

“We are very happy that NBS bank has now dressed the teams because this is what we agreed and it shows the bank’s commitment to the sponsorship and it is also one way of appreciating the team’s efforts.

“FIFA is now going with the quote ‘football unites the World’ and this shows that football has an emotional connection with the fans, they are happy when their team is doing well and they are down when their team is not doing well. Through the NBS Bank Charity Shield, we believe that we will not only reach out to the fans that are at the stadium but even those that don’t follow football because it’s for a great cause”, he said.

Mwenelupembe further added that everything  all is set for the game and people should come and watch their teams while contributing to the noble cause.

Proceeds from the match will be used to construct sanitary facilities at a school to be identified in the central region.
