The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) is pleased to report that the 2026 NBS Bank Charity Shield match between Mighty Wanderers and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, played on Saturday, 18 April 2026 at Bingu National Stadium, was a resounding success.
This year’s season opener generated MK108.9 million from ticket sales, MK100 million from NBS Bank sponsorship and MK2.1 million from broadcasting rights, bringing the total revenue to MK211.1 million.
The detailed income and expenditure report below provides an overview of the NBS Bank Charity Shield, which achieved a net income of MK103.8 million, representing a 68.8 percent increase from the MK61.7 million raised in 2025.

A special mention goes to the participating teams for their commitment and enthusiasm in helping us raise funds for this worthy initiative.”
Proceeds from the 2026 Charity Shield will be channeled towards the Green Girls Boarding initiative at Emvuyeni Community Day Secondary School in Mzimba District, in partnership with Plan International Malawi. The project is expected to benefit 500 learners and focuses on clean cooking solutions and renewable energy to create a safer and more sustainable learning environment.
