Zomba United during last year's final

Last year’s surprise Carlsberg Cup finalist Zomba United have started their 2015 campaign on high note with a 2-1 over Zomba Research in the first round of the Southern Regional Phase.
Chimwemwe Idana and Enock Davis scored for United as they booked a second round tie against Ndirande Icons, who edged Prison United 6-5 on post-match penalties.
Blantyre United, who were relegated from the Super League last season, lost to veterans Blantyre United 5-4 on post-match penalties. The two teams drew 1 al in regulation time with Stanford Chisi scoring for United while veteran Chisomo Kamlanje ensured Nyasa stayed in the game with an equaliser.
Nyasa will host Changalume who beat Evrom 2-1.
Mayeso Mphanje’s lone goal saw Max Bullets overcame Cobbe Barracks 1-0 to set up a second round fixture with Green Hawks who won 1-0 away to Nchalo United.
There were goals galore in the Central region with two matches registering seven goals each.
Justin Duwe scored the only hat trick of the competition while Jack Malata scored a brace for Master Security as they won 5-2 against Occasor who scored through Levi Lundu and King Kuwali.
Another seven goal thriller saw Black Eagles beat Mitundu 5-2 with a goal from Maxwell Malikebu and a brace each for Steven Muwanga and Maxwell Malikebu for Eagles while Petro Pelete also hit two for Mitundu.
Henry Kanyama scored twice for Silver Strikers in their 2-1 win over Dwangwa United who scored their consolation through Kondwani Baki.
Clement Makawa’s lone goal gave Support Battalion a 1-0 win over Msundwe while another brace from Pilirani Malombe guided Civo Reserve to 2-1 win over Kasungu Medicals.
The match between Kasungu Police and Hard Knockers will be replayed on Wednesday in Mponela as it ended prematurely due to darkness with scores at 1-1.
