UEFA team in for Leadership Retreat

A delegation of four UEFA experts has arrived in the country for a four-day Retreat Seminar as part of the UEFA Assist developmental programmes for Malawi.

FAM got a nod for three UEFA assist programmes with the other two being the purchase of a Minivan under the infrastructure projects and Football for Women under the capacity building projects.

The team comprising of Marie Clerc, Jonathan Ford, Par Lagerstrom and Ian Davis met FAM President Walter Nyamilandu-Manda and General Secretary Alfred Gunda on Wednesday afternoon.

On Thursday the team will meet various football stakeholders in Malawi to get an overview of Malawi Football before meeting the FAM Executive Committee on Friday and Saturday.

“The leadership retreat is an important platform for us review our Raising the Bar strategic direction after almost two years since the coming in of the new executive,”said Gunda

The UEFA Assist which was launched in 2017, aims to enhance football development and increase solidarity to tackle the needs of confederations and national associations outside of Europe.
