Only one goal scored on opening day of Super League 2nd round

Tigers were the only team that scored over the weekend

Only one goal was scored in three matches when the TNM Super League second round kicked off on Saturday.
Azam Tigers did not only score the lone goal, but were also the only team to collect full points after edging Moyale Barracks 1-0 at Kalulu Stadium in Nchalo, Chikwawa.
Alex Mkorongo scored the priceless goal for Tigers.
Tigers technical director Robin Alufandika expressed delight at the win.
“The win will definitely boost our morale, it is always good to start on a bright note,” he said.
However, the Kau-Kau Boys were reduced to 10 men in the second half following a second bookable offence by Bonda Mpinganjira.
Following the victory, Tigers moved up two places to sixth position with 25 points from 16 games whereas Moyale have dropped one place to fifth with 27 points from 16 games.
At Mzuzu Stadium, Mzuzu University (Mzuni) FC held leaders Blue Eagles to a goalless draw. Civo United were also held to a barren draw by Epac FC at Nankhaka Ground in Lilongwe.
Eagles have now gone four points clear at the summit of the 16-team league with 33 points from 16 games whereas Mzuni now occupy the fourth position with 28 points from the same number of games.
At Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe, Epac and Civo United also played out a barren draw.
