The Cosafa Beach Soccer tournament that was staged in Seychelles recently, will premier on SuperSport select channel 210 on Friday [May 1].
The show, according to Cosafa chief operations officer Sue Destombes, will also air on SuperSport Select Africa.
“In addition, we have requested SuperSport to make copies of the programme for each of the participating associations and these will be ready next week. We will, therefore, give a DVD copy to each of your Delegations travelling to South Africa for the Cosafa Cup,” said Destombes.
Meanwhile, the Central Region Beach Soccer Committee (CRBS) has organised a two-day tournament which will be hosted by Sunbird Livingstonia Hotel this weekend in Salima.
According to CRBS chairperson Leonard Mazombwe the tournament is part of celebrating the success of the national team at the just ended Cosafa games in Seychelles where it reached the finals..
Despite Malawi playing for the first time the team managed to reach the final and lost to Madagascar.
“As beach soccer committee we are very excited that finally Malawi is on the Africa map in terms of beach soccer exploits. We are not sitting back and relax but organize more tournaments to celebrate the success of the sport on the continent and also keep up the standards up,” said Mazombwe in an interview on Tuesday in Lilongwe.
