Chatama Names Provisional Squad for U17 AFCON | COSAFA Qualifiers

The Malawi U17 Boys National Team head coach, Enos Chatama, has announced a 44-member provisional squad for the TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations – COSAFA Qualifier, set for September 11–20, 2025, in Harare, Zimbabwe.

The junior Flames are expected to go into training camp at Mpira Village in Blantyre on Thursday with preparations for the tournament set to start on Friday, 15nd August 2025.

Chatama has retained 11 players from the squad that took part in last year’s edition in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Chatama’s backroom staff  include Mapopa Msukwa (Assistant Coach) George Sangala (Fitness Coach) Hethwin Nkumbaleza (Goalkeepers Coach) Benjamin Thole (Team Manager)

Malawi has been drawn in Group B alongside South Africa, Madagascar, and Zambia.
