All set for the FAM Charity Shield

Zakazaka and Msowoya the top Strikers to watch

All is set for the inaugural Chifundo Charity Shield between age-old rivals Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers.
The setting is Civo Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday.
The charity shield was jointly launched by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) and the Malawi Blood Transfusion Service (MBTS) as a campaign to use the game to promote blood donation.
Bullets were chosen by virtue of being the TNM Super League champions while the Nomads were selected for being the Carlsberg Cup winners for last season.
FAM competitions manager Gomezgani Zakazaka said all is set for the charity showdown scheduled to kickoff at 2.30pm.
Both teams also spoke tough ahead of the showdown declaring that they will approach it as any competitive fixture.
Bullets team manager Rahim Ishmael said: “Apart from it being a charity match, it has all the ingredients of competitive game because it will set the tempo for the new season.
“We, are therefore, not treating it as just another match.”
On his part, Wanderers vice-team manager Stevie Madeira said: “There is nothing like a friendly whenever the Blantyre derby comes up and we are anticipating an explosive encounter.”
The match provides both teams an opportunity to showcase their new signings.
Among others, Bullets have goalkeeper Ernest Kakhobwe, defenders John Lanjesi and Emmanuel Zoya, midfielders Amadu Makawa and Mike Nkwate and striker Muhammad Sulumba while the Nomads have Japanese Genki Nakamura, Nenani Juwaya, Rafique Namwera, Ernest Tambe and Peter Wadabwa and returnees Foster Namwera and Jimmy Zakazaka.
The MBTS has set up selected areas where fans will donate blood as part of the venture
